Paediatric Speech-Language Therapist/Pathologist
POSITION SUMMARY
Our client Hospital is seeking a Paediatric Speech-Language Therapist to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing Language, Communication,and feeding assessment and recommendations as part of the Assessment Team. The position also provides inpatient and outpatient assessment and intervention for children ages 0-16 with feeding concerns and works closely with Special Care Baby Unit. Staff responsibilities will be supervision of students and junior staff as required. You will report to Team Leader, Child Development Service, Service Manager, Woman and Children’s Health and you will have working relationships with Patients, Whanau/family, caregivers, Child Development Service members,Special Care Baby Unit and Children’s Ward staff, Paediatric Dietician, District Health Board Staff,Group Special Education and Early Childhood Providers in the hospital’s local Area.

The successful applicant will be required to provide services to children and young people with disabilities / communication difficulties in the early childhood and school sectors. The work will involve participating in multi-disciplinary collaborative teams and includes establishing effective relationships with parents, families and whanau, educators and others working in the community.
Applicants need to have excellent teaming, interpersonal and written and oral communication skills. The ability to be able to work effectively with children, parents, whanau, caregivers, teachers and other specialists is essential.
