Website Update

Firstly a huge thank you to all of you users that have kept the traffic up whilst there has been an obvious withdrawal of some of our Member Only features.

Some of you may have noticed the lack of Log In and also found it hard to find out how to register over the last couple of weeks.
The reason for this has been simple, our website has been under attack from an annoying bunch of spammers looking to take advantage of our high exposure on the internet, and use our good performance in the search engines to further benefit their own pockets.

This bunch has also attacked our forum and used it to post spam in a vain attempt to draw traffic to their own websites.
This is very disappointing, and obviously very hard to stop happening. A goal of what we have set out to achieve with this website has been to create a free platform to help benefit those that may be afflicted with communication problems, and to create a worthwhile resource for those that may need additional resources in their own programmes or treatment plans. To continue to withdraw services to stop these hackers is counterproductive to what we are wanted to provide you all with - access to our resources and programmes, and the ability to connect with each other and create your own supportive communities.

As a result of this repeated attack we have had to invest in additional layers of security on the server and inside the operational platform of the website to counter the constant onslaught. This has been quite the tipping point for us as we continue to develop this free website out of a true desire to make the world a better place.
As qualified, professional, working Speech Therapists this site has not been produced to make us wealthy, rather the opposite. The strain on resources has been considerable, so now we come to an interesting place.

Part of our conversation has been based around the site at the least paying for itself. We have attempted to do this through selective advertising, but this has not been entirely self funding. Against our own policy as we initially decided upon when we set up the site, we are in the process of installing a Google Ad programme. This will place a higher amount of advertsing throughout the site and is a necessary evil unfortunately.

We are also in the process of setting up a new donations account with PayPal, so we can ask you, our valued users, to contribute to the continuation, and future development of this website. We would love to hear what you have to say about this.

As we go through the process of installing the software to generate a Donations Platform feel free to send us an email (click here), or log onto the forum and post some thoughts in this section (click here).

We would love to hear what you think about our website, and the direction we can take with this over the coming months.

Kind regards,

David
