Welcome to Ucommunicate - our community forum.
We have set out the forum along the same lines as the other sections of the website, and have organised separate forums for separate conditions. Within each of these sections (Autism for example) you will several different sub-forums. The thinking behind this is to keep information easily accessible, quick to search and easy to navigate through. This does mean however that there are quite a few forums to look through. To make this easier you can collapse each of the forums that you are not interested in (button to the far right) as you browse through the list, then select the forum group you are interested in by clicking on it. This will open up that forum and display the categories. Select the category you are interested in and the forum will open with all of the topics displayed. If you find what you are looking for click on the post and enjoy. If not then you can start a new conversation (called a thread) by logging in and submitting a new post. Our icommunicate team will be notified of this and be right onto it, hopefully giving you the answers that you need! In the meantime other registered users of the forum might have some experience in this area and respond.
The icommunicate community.
It is our hope that users of this website will see the benefit of actively participating in this forum. The site has several areas of special interest and resources for medical professionals and healthcare specialists, and as a trade-off we hope that they contribute and respond to questions on the forum at every opportunity. For the general public, just the act of responding to someone's question if you have had a similar experience, is an act of kindness and support, and may be greatly appreciated. It will not take you long. At times the experience of caring for a loved one with a communication difficulty can be overwhelming, emotional and stressful for all concerned, and there may be a lack of local support. As an online community we are only as strong as our intentions and our actions, so please be supportive and think of how you can give to this site. If we can create a strong community online, with users giving and receiving information, we can also create a strong sense of caring and support for those that may really need to hear something positive in an otherwise hectic time.
It is a wonderful resource that will just get stronger, more informative and more valuable with participation from our users
