I have a client that suffered a stroke nearly two years ago. She does speak slightly. usually phases are: I don't know, yes, no. She does answer questions such as: where were you born, where did you teach, what are your children's names.
We have some charts, however, they are elementary and I feel they are demeaning to her, since she is a Professor. She is able to read but the difficulty comes when she tries to put her answer together in her head. She can also site the alphabet, but has a hard time spelling.
My goal is to put together a speech communication book for her that is more grown up (for a lack of better terms) and that will make her want to work harder for better communication. Any suggestions?
